Good day, and happy Good Friday to all of my christian followers. I hope and pray all of you are as well as can be in the midst of the current pandemic. Today's blog has to do with what Jesus (Yahshua) or Joshua, referred to in revelations as the "Great Whore", or Babylon.
Revelation 17 (verse 5) reads, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Prostitutes and Abominations of the Earth. After some consideration from reading this, I arrived at the conclusion that what Jesus was referring to was the church as led by the Pope. But delving further into the subject, and in light of the current situation, I came to the conclusion that what the Messiah was actually referring to was society.
Our current practice of "social distancing" is evidence of this and the fact that God is using this plague as a means of reordering our social behavior. For too long we have enjoyed a sort of "chaotic" social "intercourse" with one another; in the dark, not based on rules; in the light, based on too many rules. When considering the condition we are now in, I also thought about Jesus' time and the constriction that the multitude of religious laws brought on the people. They were not able to enjoy their lives and be truly happy, which is what God wants for us.
In a previous blog, I talked about how unhappiness is a sin. It is also a sin to not do what it takes to make one happy which is a hard task because often we don't know or are unsure of what that entails. In times like these it is good to trust in God and renew our commitment to him/her. Until next time, remember God loves you and so do I.
